Is my organization eligible for pro bono consulting?
Hive Helps will consider applications from non-profit, non-governmental organizations that hold a charitable status in their country, and K-12 school programs, but preference will be given to the following:
Organizations providing direct services to underserved communities, such as healthcare, mental health services, employment services, financial assistance, and shelters.
Organizations with an annual budget of less than $250,000 USD.
Organizations currently experiencing one or more cybersecurity-related challenges.
What we bring.
Recipients of the Hive Helps pro bono cybersecurity consulting have received a number of organization strengthening services, which vary based on the size and need of the organization. Recipients in the past have received one or some of the following:
Developing and updating SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records to reduce the risk of email spoofing and help deliverability.
Updating the public facing web page to only deliver content securely over https and TLSv1.2+
Developing and delivering a one hour cybersecurity awareness training to all personnel to help reduce the risk of human causes for cybersecurity incidents.
Developing and delivering a one hour "operational security" awareness training for field members of an organization to properly secure their electronic devices in the event of them being stolen or confiscated.
Conducting a comprehensive cybersecurity risk assessment to identify the areas most susceptible to cybersecurity risks and providing actionable recommendations for remediating the issues, including on-prem devices, organization cloud deployments, and third party web-based services.
Conducting monthly phishing simulations to help reduce the risk of phishing for the organization and quantitatively identifying at-risk individuals and teams for additional cybersecurity training.

How to Apply.
Eligible organizations are welcome to submit an application for the Hive Helps pro bono cybersecurity consultancy. A formal, written application, including the following information, is required:
A. Cover letter
Submitted on official letterhead from the organization and signed by a representative with authority to submit an application.
B. Description of Your Organization
Provide a description of:
The organization's mission, size (board/employees/volunteers), activities, and programs;
The geographic area and/or population the organization currently serves; and
The organization’s cybersecurity needs, including any deadline(s) relating to the request for assistance.
C. Supporting Documentation
Copy of an IRS 501(c)(3) ruling or other documentation substantiating tax exemption status;
List of board members and officers (identified explicitly) with their names, titles, and affiliations;
Bylaws or other organizational guiding documents;
Most recent audit, if available. If audit is not available, please provide most recent annual budget;
Any other organizational information that might be helpful (i.e. brochures, annual reports); and
Name, address, phone number, and email of the application contact person.
D. Submission

Deadline.
Applications are accepted on a rolling semi-annual basis until June 30th and December 31st; with two recipients awarded each calendar year following the deadlines.
